The Sparkly Collectable for July is the Alder Tree. Inspired by holidays on the water and walking through nature reserves with our eyes opened to the many wonders of our earth.

  • 10% of the sale of this piece will be donated to the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.

  • This item is also available as a subscription piece and if you have a subscription we will automatically send this out to you.

The Story of KINGDOM

On the waters edge there are two trees, a queen and a king. The Willow tree stands as the Queen, and her King, the Alder, takes strength from the water hardening to stone as he absorbs it’s power. The Celts believe this wondrous tree to be protected by the fairies as it guards the gateway to another kingdom.

We came across the Alder tree on a recent walk around the beautiful nature reserve at Hoveton Great Broad. One of the many Broads in Norfolk, this one is only accessible by boat, and as a nature reserve it offers protection from humankind and their leisurely ways.

As our sparkly family holiday on the Norfolk Broads every year we are members of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust and they do really fantastic work and we are therefore really pleased to offer a small contribution to the upkeep of the wonderful trees through the sale of this months piece.
